E-skills week in Latvia was organized by LIKTA (Latvian information and communication technology associations) in cooperation with The Ministry of Regional development and Local government. More than 100 national and industry partners have been involved in e-skills week organization - Several ministries, state agencies, schools and library network, ICT enterprises, Banks and other e-services and e-skills training providers. 303 different events took place in 55 regions and cities of Latvia. All in total more than 20 000 participants took part in different seminars, trainings, workshops and e-skills tests. All participants have been asked to register using digital counter which allowed to draw statistics about gender, age and occupation.

Main activities during e-skills week in Latvia E-skills week participants where invited to test their ICT skills with IT barometer - an online testing tool developed by LIKTA. More than 10 000 tests were taken for 3 barometer modules: basic ICT skills, word processing skills and skills to work with electronic spreadsheets and calculations More than 5000 participants passed an online test for effective information search and analysis offered by portal www.letonika.lv Ministry of Science and Education has involved the whole school network to participate in e-skills activities. Activities in schools were organized in 3 main directions: - Introducing students to latest ICT technologies and testing their ICT skills - Introducing students to use of e-services - Seminars for students together with their parents- targeting issues of safe internet, cyber ethics etc. Special training materials have been developed for entrepreneurs in cooperation with Ministry of Economy, Central Statistical Bureau, State Revenue services and other organizations providing e-services to SMEs Library network all over Latvia took part in e-skills week activities informing citizens and providing training on use of Internet and e-services Special promotion activities have been organized by ECDL training and testing centres all over Latvia With support of Lattelecom 2 days online seminar broadcasts have been organized to portal www.apollo.lv.
