Online Availability of Public Services in Lithuania

In implementing its E-governance concept, Lithuania has given paramount attention to E-government projects which relate to the offering of public services on the Internet. This paper focuses on the important information systems which enable the provision of more efficient and convenient services and information to citizens and businesses, facilitate and accelerate the work of government institutions, and allow people to save time and money. There are, however, various obstacles in this area, including the interoperability of systems. Information systems often function separately, and there are also issues concerning identity, the scarcity of human resources and knowledge, etc.
